AP Exam:
- Early May 2022 - to be determined
- 2 hours and 15 minutes
Grading System:
- Grading for this class is designed to encourage growth and learning...not checking off a box and moving on.
- How Grading Works:
- Each assignment will have goals / objectives.
- Each goal / objective will be scored on a scale of 1-4.
- 4 = Excellent
- 3 = Good
- 2 = Needs Improvement
- 1 = Incorrect or Missing
- The goal / objective scores will be averaged. That average translates into a grade.
- Grading Scale:
- 3.5 to 4.0 = A = 95%
- 2.5 to 3.5 = B = 85%
- 2.0 to 2.5 = C = 75%
- 1.0 to 1.9 = F = 50%
- Assignment not turned in = 25%
- "Can I get 100% on an assignment?" Yes - each assignment will provide "stretch work" - something short but that requires a little extra work to earn the extra 5%.
- If you do the stretch work but get a B, C, or F...you will still receive the extra 5% bonus.
- If you do the stretch work but get a B, C, or F...you will still receive the extra 5% bonus.
- Correcting Work:
- If you do not like the grade you received, you can make corrects and turn it back in to be re-graded.
- Your corrected work must be turned in by the Cut-off Date (near the end of the Quarter).
- Late Work:
- If work is turned in before the last day of the unit, there is no late penalty.
- If work is turned in after the last day of the unit, there is a 15% late penalty.
- To receive full credit and remove the 15% late penalty...you must provide a written explanation of why your work is late. This must be a well-written response, providing a good picture for why the work was missing/late.
- The goal is to take responsibility for work being late, learn the importance of deadlines, and identify trends (and opportunities to avoid work being late in the future).
